Swifts proposal reflection

    I found the "Modest Proposal" to be disgusting because of the fact that he said that people from Ireland ate their children, or would have to resort to doing so because of the population and the lack of food.  I don't care how hungry you are, eating your own flesh and blood is a terrible thought.   Especially for women, they have to carry the child in their womb for nine months, go through child labor, and look at the nasty stretch marks for the rest of their lives..it would seem to be a waste just to eat the child when you could watch it grow into something great. If we were raised to believe that this way of life is okay, then maybe it would be different, but we weren't so it's just not right.  I mean really, could you eat a cute little kid?
